Harding's Beach, Chatham, MA (Cape Cod)
Take Route 28 East to Chatham. Look for "Shop Ahoy"
shopping center on the right. Immediately after Shop Ahoy, at blinking
light, take a right onto Barn Hill Road (there is a sign indicating it is the
turn for Harding Beach). Follow Barn Hill Road until you see the sign for
Harding Beach on the right. Follow the road to the first parking lot and drive
to the left to the second parking lot. Look for a sign indicating the
walking trail. We walked this 2 mile loop through a salt marsh, dunes and
salt-water inlets looking for a spot to plant this box which honors our friend,
Chris Soares, with whom we spent many enjoyable hours in Chatham. Finding
no suitable hiding spot we landed back in the parking lot. Look for a sign that
reads "No Dogs Allowed on Beach 4/11 to 9/15--$25.00 Fine" to it's left you will
see a log blocking vehicle entrance to a parth. Walk up to the log and
look on the far right end of it for a loose board forming the coop for the
Chatham Rooster--long may he crow!
